Check Out A New Action Featurette For KUNDO: AGE OF THE RAMPANT
Korean action fans and Asian cinema filmgoers alike can now get another glimpse of the behind-the-scenes production work for director Yoon Jong-bin‘s new period Robin Hood revenge thriller, Kundo: Age Of The Rampant. The feaurette is entirely in Korean with no English subs whatsoever, but it does include some speaking segments from select members of the cast and crew, including Yoon, and lead actors Ha Jung-woo and Kang Dong-won, the latter who plays the villain. Also, if you’re patient enough for the two minutes it plays, you’ll see action choreographer favorite Jung Doo-hung speaking on behalf of the film as well.
The year is 1859, feudal Joseon is plagued with numerous natural disasters, poor harvest, poverty, hunger and death. But those who rule over them are only concerned with their own wealth and continue to exploit and persecute the poor. In this dark period, KUNDO was a single shred of hope for the poor, an entity which can be the subject of fear to unjust nobles. Dolmuchi was born into a poor butcher, while Jo-yoon is from a millionaire family. After killing Dolmuchi”s mother and sister, Jo-yoon commands absolute power over him. Clouded by vengeance, Dolmuchi is accepted as a member of KUNDO, and unsheathes his sword for the weak. Now, before him, the man who took away his family stands tall.
