DRAGON’S REVENGE: Dragon Yuen Suits Up For Justice In The Official Trailer For The Masebrothers ‘Dragon Cop’ Feature Sequel!
Writer/director Mathieu Caillière and his team a while to bring it to fruition, but they’re well on track to do just that with the Masebrothers production, Dragon’s Revenge. Backed by Kickstarter supporters as a follow-up to Caillière’s 2023 short, “Dragon Cop,” the cast is led by actor and stuntman Vibol-Joseph Sok (John Wick: Chapter 4, Ballerina: From The World Of John Wick), this time with a scope that steps it up a bit.
From the looks of it, you get Caillière’s Hong Kong action fan nod fused with anime and tokusatsu influences, hinted otherwise by the most recent teaser art beneath the player below. The film also reteams Caillière with stuntman Jérôme Bernard-Var since collaborating on their 2020 tribute to 90s cyberpunk action, Cyborg: Deadly Machine; Bernard-Var steers the action this time in the company of Team Cascade 31 for good measure.
Left for dead by the criminal John Rickman, Dragon Yuen has only one goal: to avenge his partner Cynthia, who was brutally murdered. His hunt takes him from Hong Kong to New Jack City, California, where Rickman oversees a clandestine lab developing “Emerald”—a drug capable of creating super-soldiers.
Dragon passes the evidence from his investigation to his friend, Inspector John Campbell, who then sets out on Rickman’s trail himself. Amidst shootouts, ruthless combat, and unexpected encounters, everyone converges for a final showdown where a secret weapon might just turn the tide of battle…
Caillière also appears in the film along with Nicolas Gruber, Aurelie Aloy, Lucie Charbonneaux, Arnaud Peries, Frédéric Zolfanelli, Matthieu Trintignac, and Dave Trix. The aforementioned Gruber also enlists for the French voice talent including Lionel Tua, Mark Lesser, Vincent Ropion, Michel Vigné, Lucille de la Morena, Theo Weyland, and CrazyBombWorld.
