DREAM STORY: Yasuaki Kurata Awakens To An Action-Packed Dreamscape In The First Teaser!
Martial arts action remains on the menu this summer if you’re in Japan and looking to celebrate actor and screen legend Yasuaki Kurata. Following the production and crowdfunding of his latest anthological fantasy, Dream Story, the first official teaser is now online with screening plans in the coming weeks, and venerated Hong Kong film laureate Sammo Hung also joining in on the festivities.
60 Years as an Action Actor!
Yasuaki Kurata, who has thrilled audiences in Hong Kong, Japan, and around the world
A special trailer for the film “Dream Story,” featuring a miraculous reunion with his close friend Sammo Hung, now that he’s turned 80!
Yasuaki Kurata, the one and only active action actor who has engaged in fierce battles with numerous legends such as Jackie Chan, Jet Li, and Donnie Yen.
Now 80 years old and celebrating his 60th anniversary as an action actor, this legend has taken on a new challenge: the film “Dream Story,” featuring a miraculous reunion with his close friend Sammo Hung, which is scheduled for theatrical release at Shinjuku Musashino-kan in July.
Rounding out the cast are Fumi Taniguchi, Seiji Takaiwa, Masaya Kato and Rina Takeda, and with segments directed by Koichi Sakamoto, Yuji Shimomura, and Kenji Tanigaki.
I don’t know what the plans are for its U.S. premiere, so with some of my usual spots like NYAFF and Fantasia still a ways out, here’s hoping for some good news. Watch the teaser below in the meantime:
