ERASER: REBORN Rebirths A 90s Action Classic This Summer
If you were to ask me that a reboot of a 90s actioner just made its way to production some months back, I would have looked at you like you needed your head examined.
Alas, leave it to director John Pogue (The Quiet Ones, Deep Blue Sea 3) to set the tone of the conversation and Warner Bros. Entertainment to bring you the official trailer for Eraser: Reborn, which dares to add actor Dominic Sherwood (Shadowhunters) into the equation for fans to address the ole’ who-did-it-better? query.
U.S. Marshal Mason Pollard specializes in “erasing” people – faking the deaths of high-risk witnesses. With the technological advances of the last 25 years, the game has upgraded, and it’s just another day at the office when he’s assigned to Rina Kimura, a crime boss’ wife who’s decided to turn state’s evidence. As the two flee to Cape Town, South Africa, with a team of merciless assassins on their trail, Pollard discovers he’s been set up. Double-crossed and fueled by adrenaline, he needs to be at the top of his game, or he’ll be the one who’s erased. Permanently.
Pogue directs from a script by Michael Weiss (Jarhead 3: The Siege). Also starring are Jacky Lai (V-Wars), McKinley Belcher III (Marriage Story) and Eddie Ramos (Animal Kingdom) for the film’s Digital, Blu-ray and DVD release on June 7, prior to streaming on HBO Max this Fall.
