Director R.L. Scott has an interesting body of work for all of those interested in action cinema. His latest, Call Me King was a notably solid effort with all hopes for a sequel that can’t happen soon enough, and so until then, there will be plenty of ideas for Scott to mingle with.
As such, one of those concepts are now close to being fully realized with Lazarus, from Shadow Motion Pictures and OverDog Entertainment in association with Phoenix Rising Films. Call Me King and Stomp The Yard (2007) co-star, actor Sean Riggs leads the cast in a plot not yet made public but is being described by Scott as “a gritty, ultra violent take on the superhero genre, with hard hitting, brutal fight sequences and a horror undertone.”
Riggs reunites with fellow Call Me King
co-stars, actor Kevin Lukata – star of the forthcoming thriller, The Intermediate
, and actor Shaun Mixon, with a cast that adds Costas Mandylor (The Saw Trilogy), Shane Brolly (Underworld), Aeriél Miranda (Straight Outta Compton) and R&B superstar Mya, with Christina Wren (Man Of Steel, Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice), Adamo Palladino (Girls of Sunset Place) actor and martial artist Andre “Chyna” Mccoy (The Matrix, Kung Fu Man), Linc Hand (42), Damian T. Raven, Sam Puefua (Hawaii Five-0) and Stephen “Stevo” Jones (Step Up-All In). Scott and Riggs executive produce with costumes designed by Arlene Flores and wardrobe by 20th Century Fox Studios. A teaser is expected to roll out later this year ahead of a 2017 release, and so as of this week, Film Combat Syndicate has an exclusive set of nine stills in which you can sample some of the work already completed below.
