GUYVER: GENESIS Trailer Teases The Next Phase Of Corey Hour’s Fan Film Series
Apparently there’s a Guyver fan film happening that was crowdfunded last year and now has a teaser and trailer making the rounds. The project in question, Guyver: Genesis, takes its cues from Yoshiki Takaya’s “Bio Booster Armor Guyver” manga series with a cast led by Cameron Rankin, Maya McGowan, and Sherwin Kuo, and directed by Corey Hour in his latest follow-up from last year’s shortfilm debut, “Guyver: Midnight”.
When two students discover an ancient alien artifact deep within the forest, they awaken a force beyond their understanding. The Chronos Corporation will stop at nothing to reclaim it—even if it means destroying everything in their path.
The production has also since enlisted actor Bruno Patrick who played Arlen Crane in Steve Wang’s 1994 sequel adaptation, Guyver: Dark Hero, as well as famed make-up artist and costumer Asao Goto who worked on both the 1991 and 1994 films.
Guyver: Genesis was successfully funded a day after its launch last August, and managed to reach up to 383 percent of its initial $8,000 goal a month later. With a teaser and trailer now making the rounds, backers are likely to see this one sooner before it’s made publicly available.
