Keeping track of the official numbers of lives lost and affected in areas within and surrounding the Philippines since Haiyan, a Category 5 Supertyphoon struck the region in the week following November 3rd have been a devastating reminder of just how horrible conditions are for its now injured and homeless residents. And sadly, those numbers are only climbing. The news has impacted communities worldwide, leading to countless efforts to generously donate and provide as much help as possible to aid those people in the area and rebuild as soon as possible.
As such, the folks over at San Diego’s
M.A.A.C. – Metropolitan Area Advisory Committee on Anti-Poverty, is making their own effort in the form of tomorrow night’s event,
San Diego Benefit “For the Love of the Philippines” on
December 14th 2013, to raise as much funds as they can through art and performance, using the event locale, Moonshine Flats, as their platform to showcase the talent they are willing to host with proceeds of ticket sales going to the American Red Cross and Gawad Kalinga, USA. Performers ranging in a wide variety from singers and musicians, to MMA athletes and boxers, Filipino Martial Arts grandmasters and other performers, including the
EMC Monkeys and
The Bladed Hand documentary producer, actor
Sonny Sison.
M.A.A.C. has set up an
Eventbrite page with further detailed information on who will attend, the purpose of the event, tickets prices, donation consultation and more. Feel free to share the event page with friends and family.
