HAKKENDEN: Don’t Miss The Latest Trailer Footage And Character Visuals For Fumihiko Sori’s Epic Novel Adaptation
The official trailer is now live for Fumihiko Sori’s latest effort, Hakkenden, which opens in Japan theaters on October 25. We also have a slate of character posters along with some official key art that went public over the summer.
Set in early 1800s, the film depicts a story behind the creation of HAKKENDEN(八犬伝), a novel which has been passed down for many generations and is said to have become the root of the heroism of Japanese entertainment. With a great performance of award winning actor, Koji Yakusho, and with a combination of a spectacular visualization of the fictional part from HAKKENDEN, the film also captures how one creator accomplished to finish an epic novel through an agony and struggle, along with a friendship between Hokusai.
Sori directs from a screenplay he adapted from Futaro Yamada’s novels published in the early eighties, with a cast led by Koji Yakusho who scored Best Actor at the 76th edition of Cannes for his role in Wim Wenders’s Perfect Days. The actor is joined by Seiyo Uchino, Tao Tsuchiya, and many, many more now available in a bevy of character visuals you can take a gander at beneath the video embeds, along with the official poster all from Kino Films.
