HITMAN LAWYER: Hirofumi Araki Is Judge, Jury And Executioner In The Official Trailer
Front and center once again with a small raft of directorial efforts in his wake is none other than actor and filmmaker Daisuke Ono (Astral Abnormal Suzuki-san) who returns to us with Hitman Lawyer, at the helm for lead actor Hirofumi Araki who is best known for his musical stage credits in titles such as “The Prince Of Tennis,” “Touken Ranbu,” and “Yu Yu Hakusho” to name a few.
Araki, whose screen appearances partly include Koichi Sakamoto’s Bungo Stray Dogs The Movie: Beast and Jet Black Ten: The Ending Story, stars in the title role of Shindo Kai, a champion lawyer-by-day and sword-wielding vigilante by night. One day he is defeated in court by an IT firm connected to an attack on his Yakuza crime boss father’s organization by a rival gang, revealing the very corruption in the justice system that will compel him to unsheath his sword once more.
Rounding out the cast are Jinnai Syo (High & Low: The Worst), Momone Akiya (Baby Assassins), and Araki’s fellow “Touken Ranbu” stage cohort Kensuke Takahashi, among others. Klockworx VOD is releasing the film in Japan on April 21.
