Jamie Foxx Is In Comic Book Movie Mode, In 'Aggressive Pursuit' To Play SPAWN
For a matter of about more than a decade now, comic book author and creator Todd MacFarlane expressed his anticipation on actively developing a feature-length return of the character Spawn to the big screen, having progressed into the talk of making a lower budgeted, closely managed sequel with a darker-toned vision suitable for an R-rating, compared to its 1997 predecesor from director Mark A.Z. Dippé. This year, it seems now that with the heightened popularity and success of Django Unchained, White House Down and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 star, actor Jamie Foxx, MacFarlane’s Image Comics property is back in the headlines, and hitting heavy with a recent statement from the actor who recently spoke to Movies.com about the project, telling Erik Davis the following: “There’s a couple of them, Spawn…is one, yeah, and uh, Mike Tyson. Those are two roles that I would just love to, you know, get down with.” Foxx went on to add that he is “aggressively pursuing” both roles, but expanding a bit more dialogue on playing Mike Tyson in a new film.
The 1997 installation of Spawn from Dippé was not a huge success upon its release at the time, but it also succeeded in granting mainstream notoriety for action star Michael Jai White, who also spoke a few years back about what he would love to do for a new Spawn film. “I hope he does [make the film]. In the next couple years I might have to produce it myself. It’s a no-brainer.” he says. “Look at how these movies have done, superhero movies that have gone dark, and there hasn’t been one darker than Spawn. If we do it like we want to, it could be a game changer. I think Todd feels the same way as me – that we go R. Not a kinder, gentler Spawn, we go straight R – like pushing it, pushing NC-17. Give the fans what they expect. That edge brought [the comic book] to where it is. I would really like to show what that character can be.”

Michael Jai White is better off playing SPAWN again! He makes a perfect part as SPAWN. Jamie Foxx I just don't see him playing a good part as SPAWN.. I'm sure everyone would agree on that. Michael Jai White please play SPAWN again! You are meant for this roll!!!
