The pre-production of director David Ayer‘s live-action contribution to the Warner Bros./DC Cinematic Universe, Suicide Squad, has since been a bit of a casting rollercoaster for one of the leads. Actor Tom Hardy departed the film last month due to his own issues pertaining to the script, prior to the entry and subsequent exit of actor Jake Gyllenhaal, thus continuing the search for a replacement.
As such, and as timely as it is, the theatrical release of the new Liam Neeson thriller, Run All Night is set for March 13 April 17, and one of its co-stars is about get some good momentum going if the talks go well. Variety says Robocop star, actor Joel Kinnaman is now up for the role of ensemble character Rick Flagg alongside the powerhouse cast that includes stars of the upcoming drama, Focus, actor Will Smith as Deadshot and actress Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn with Oscar winner Jared Leto as the Joker, Divergent series cast member Jai Courtney as Boomerang and Pan co-star Cara Delevingne as Enchantress.
Ayer is also behind the script with at least five specific comic book issues in mind pertaining to what lies ahead for the potential plot which may focuses on a ragtag team of supervillains out to save the world under the adminstration of an off-the-books government program. Actress Viola Davis is currently mentioned to star in addition to actor Jesse Eisenberg following his upcoming role as Lex Luthor in Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice next March.
Suicide Squad is being produced by Charles Roven and Richard Suckle with Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder, Colin Wilson and Geoff Johns executive producing for the film’s August 5, 2016 set date.
