Max Winkler’s JUNGLELAND Starts Filming
Whenever I think of Charlie Hunnam lately, I think of what could’ve been with the King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword if it didn’t bomb so creatively as it did. A fresh take on the mythology with solid action and an energizing story with an adrenaline-pumping tone would have been awesome to see flourish.
Wishful thinking aside though, the star of the newly released Papillon is now on set these days for the Massachusetts production of Jungleland, according to Deadline. Several more cities are also listed for filming in Buffalo in New York; Gary, Indiana; Reno, NV and San Francisco, CA following the film’s June annoucnement in a report highlighting Jules Daly’s Big Red transition.
Max Winkler is directing the film which centers on a reluctant bareknuckle brawler and his brother (Hunnam), and their crosscountry journey for one last fight which becomes imperiled by a female travel companion who exposes the cracks in their bond. Also starring are Jack O’Connell and Jessica Barden from a script by Winkler and writers Theodore B. Bressman and David Branson Smith.
Romulus Entertainment’s Brad Feinstein is producing with Jules Daly’s Big Red Films banner, as well as Scott Free’s Kevin Walsh and Ryan Stowell.
