KARADA SAGASHI: Worst Groundhog Day Ever In The First Teaser Trailer For Eiichiro Hasumi’s New Horror Adaptation
Web novel author Welzard’s 2011 publication, Karada Sagashi, is now the center of Assassination Classroom 1 & 2 and The Sun Does Not Move helmer Eiichiro Hasumi’s newest work as Warner Bros. Japan now debuts a first look at the official trailer for the new action horror adaptation now set to arrive in Japan in October.
There’s no official studio logline that I can find, but to sum up, the film stars Kanna Hashimoto (Gintama, From Today, It’s My Turn!!), and takes place on the morning of July 5 when a student named Asuka later finds herself caught in a cyclic and gruesome death loop. Trapped on school grounds with her childhood friend and four other classmates with no way out, they are all tasked with finding eight missing body parts belonging to a young girl named Haruka, which are scattered throughout the building. Either they succeed, or risk being hunted by a deadly and vicious entity, and forced to repeat the day until they win.
So we’re talking Groundhog Day by way of our worst possible nightmares… Sweet! This, on top of the fact that this will be a third offering for anyone who’s been a fan of Hashimoto and is looking forward to Toichiro Ruto’s Violence Action and Shinsuke Sato’s Kingdom 2 this summer as well. Indeed, both reasons to have faith in 2022.
