LAYERS OF LIES: Bloody Knuckles And High-Flying Action Laid Out In The First Official Teaser For Ramin Sohrab’s Debut
Screen Anarchy‘s Todd Brown unveiled on Tuesday the first official teaser for Layers Of Lies, the long-awaited milestone feature debut for Finnish-Iranian actor, martial artist and filmmaker Ramin Sohrab. Filming began early on in 2018 as Sohrab had already ramped up his profile a bit through a number of screen credits, in addition to spectacular demo reels and cuts of his shortfilms showcasing what he can do.
With Layer Of Lies, he gets to do all of it and much more, starring as well as producing, and directing from a script he wrote with Chris Larsen (Dearest Sister, The Long Walk) who he added to the project later on as co-writer, according to the initial report. XYZ Films is repping the film for sales in North America while the film readies to screen this year at the 40th Fajr Film Festival in Tehran to inaugurate the film’s festival circulation.
In Layers Of Lies, Sohrab plays an ex-fireman who returns to his home country, Iran, after a decade-long absence, only to have his old enemy resurface and steal away what he treasures most – and now he’ll stop at nothing to exact revenge. The film also stars actress and singer Jessica Wolff who’s popped up on our Hit List radar a number of times over the years, so it’s an absolute pleasure to see her getting some major screentime in for 2022.
