LION FIST – BATTLE OF THE CHAMPIONS Trailer Brings Mathis Landwehr To Yet Another Not-So-Last Kumite!
Last week saw an official trailer reveal for the latest from director Taim M. Adams with Lion Fist – Battle of the Champions. The new tournament martial arts thriller returns Mathis Landwehr back to the fray with the duo behind The Last Kumite, Sean David Lowe and Wayne Graves, along with Keith W. Standberg of No Retreat, No Surrender fame.
Martial artist Joe (Mathis Landwehr) spent four years in prison for a crime he didn’t commit. After his release, he learns that his son needs expensive surgery because he has a life-threatening tumor. Joe’s only chance to save him: a brutal all-styles tournament with a $100,000 prize. After rigorous training under Grandmaster Wu, Joe enters the ring with some of the strongest fighters in the world – but not all of his opponents fight cleanly…
From Sean David Lowe and Wayne Graves, the producers of “The Last Kumite,” and Keith Strandberg, the screenwriter of “Karate Tiger,” comes a new retro martial arts film starring German martial arts star Mathis Landwehr. Also featured are “Karate Tiger” star and 80s legend Kurt McKinney, martial arts veterans Gary Daniels (“City Hunter,” “Bloodmoon”) and Keith Cooke (“Mortal Kombat,” “China O’Brien”), as well as MMA social media star Brice Akuesson. Mike Möller (“Matrix Resurrections,” “Resident Evil”) is responsible for the fight choreography. The title song, “Heart of a Lion,” was written and performed by Stan Bush, whose music has given films like “Bloodsport” their distinctive atmosphere.
Capelight is handling the film’s German physical release on limited edition Mediabook (UHD + Blu-ray), Blu-ray and DVD, and digital from September 10. Check out the official trailer which made its debut last week:
