LUTHER: THE FALLEN SUN Trailer Teases Unfinished Business For Idris Elba
The official trailer is out for director Jamie Payne’s Luther: The Fallen Sun, as is the official poster both of which you can view below. The film is a return to the very role that landed creator Neil Cross a hit series for BBC with lead actor Idris Elba shepherding the crime procedural that began five seasons ago in summer 2010.
In Luther: The Fallen Sun — an epic continuation of the award-winning television saga reimagined for film — a gruesome serial killer is terrorizing London while brilliant but disgraced detective John Luther (Idris Elba) sits behind bars. Haunted by his failure to capture the cyber psychopath who now taunts him, Luther decides to break out of prison to finish the job by any means necessary.
Also starring are Cynthia Erivo and Andy Serkis along with series regular Dermot Crowley. The film is getting an early start in theaters beginning February 24, before launching on Netflix March 10.
