MALBATT: MISI BAKARA Trailer Signals Adrian Teh’s New Patriotic War Actioner
Recent Malaysian titles like Paskal, Wira and The Assistant should come to mind as a reminder that the work of director Adrian Teh in the last several years has not gone unnoticed. He now returns to the table with patriotic action adventure Malbatt: Misi Bakara, billed as Malaysia’s most expensive film to date, and with a new trailer courtesy of Act 2 Pictures, and a local release slated for August.
Based on a true story of the 19th Battalion Malay Regiment, which was deployed as part of the United Nations peacekeeping force in 1993, and their mission to rescue the trapped American soldiers in the Bakaara Market, Mogadishu, Somalia following the Black Hawk Down attack.
Teh directs a cast that reunites him with familiars from previous projects, including Bront Palarae (Wira), Shaheizy Sam (Polis Evo franchise), Hairul Azreen (Paskal, Wira, The Assistant), Zahiril Adzim (Ada Hantu 1 and 2), and Iedil Dzuhrie (The Assistant).
