MATCH MONDO: Choose Your Battles In The Official Trailer For Ryusuke Kurahashi’s Live-Action Manga Adaptation!
The latest official trailer for Ryusuke Kurahashi’s Match Mondo is now online. The movie is set to arrive in Japan cinemas on September 11 from Rights Cube.
Based on Shogo Horiuchi’s hit manga, the film centers on the users of a match-to-match app, getting into street fights to score cash. When 18-year-old delinquent Kagome Mahiro (Masayoshi Katsuki) rescues Mikio (Daigo Kotaro) from being harassed by a group of the app’s competitors, the two soon become embroiled in a fierce battle.
Kurahashi directs the live-action adaptation which joins him with a pair of high caliber creatives in screenwriter Yugo Sakamoto, and action coordinator Naohiro Kawamoto – both of whom are known for their extraordinary work on the Baby Assassins franchise, and then some.
Match Mondo just had its World Premiere for the 25th edition of the Neuchatel International Fantastic Film Festival. The movie will also screen for its North American Premiere at the 4th Big Bad Film Fest in August alongside French action comedy short, Lost In Spice.
