MOJIN X To Sequel After Wuershan’s ‘Mojin’, Casting Celina Jade, Zhang Hanyu and Jiang Wu

Zhang Muye’s “Ghost Blows Out The Light” has made immense work of having itself applied to the big screen in the last several years. Wuershan’s Mojin: The Lost Legend was the first before Lu Chuan’s spiritual sequel, Chronicles Of The Ghostly Tribe while Fei Xing’s Worm Valley and Dragon Ridge entries remain a mystery following announcements by Enlight back in May.
Whether or not those two projects happen remains to be seen while recent news out of Variety makes clearer the casting of Celina Jade (Wolf Warrior 2) for Li Yifan’s Mojin X. The film will be a direct sequel to Wuershan’s hit action adventure, continuing the tomb raider saga which also adds Zhang Hanyu (Operation Mekong, Manhunt) and Jiang Wu (Dragon, Wrath Of Silence) to the cast.
Plot details are nil for the film which hails from Saints Entertainment, and producer Zhang Wang – a.k.a. Er Yong (Hidden Man, The Postmodern Life of My Aunt, Peacock and In the Heat of the Sun).
Jade, whose stint in Wolf Warrior 2 helped Wu Jing’s second solo directorial outing gross $850 million to become China’s highest-grossing film of all time, currently stars in Yuhan Wu’s latest comedy, Hello Mrs. Money. (Variety)
