Jung Hyuk-Ki’s new boxing drama, My Punch-Drunk Boxer, is heading out to theaters in October and the first official teaser trailer is out.
The film stars Um Tae-Goo (Veteran, A Taxi Driver) Byung-gu, a down-and-out ex-professional boxer booted from the sport and resolved to doing odd jobs for a local gym. One day he gets the urge to get back in the ring and discovers he’s been diagnosed with “punch drunk syndrome” due to repeat concussions.
Actress Hye-ri (Monstrum) plays Min-ji, a bubbly new gym member who volunteers to help Byung-gu, inspiring him to use his disability as an advantage via Pansori Boxing.
The film also stars Kim Hee-Won (The Merciless). Peep the official teaser trailer above!
