NE ZHA 2 Continues The Epic Legendary Saga In North America In February!

CMC Pictures is proudly taking the mantle for Ne Zha 2, the sequel to the hit animated Chinese New Year adventure from director Yu Yang. The official trailer is here as well with release dates set for February 13 in Australia & New Zealand, Fiji, and the Independent State of Papua New Guinea, and on February 14 throughout North America.

After the heavenly lightning, although Ne Zha and Ao Bing survived by becoming Spirits, they would soon dissipate completely. Taiyi plans to rebuild Ne Zha and Ao Bing’s mortal bodies with the Seven-colored Precious Lotus. However, during the process of reconstruction, numerous obstacles arise. What will become of the fate of Ne Zha and Ao Bing?

The first flick was a pretty big deal and was supposed to be the start of an animated cinematic universe that also included Cheng Teng and Li Wei’s Jiang Ziya the following year. Nothing ever came of these plans beyond these two films which makes Ne Zha 2 the current continuation, so maybe there’s something happening after all? I don’t know, but we have Ne Zha 2, and the first one was pretty cool. Our own Mike Garcia enjoyed it as well, and the sequel looks enticing.
