Netflix Crime Thriller, IN THE SHADOW OF THE MOON, Announces Production
Filming is currently underway for director Jim Mickle’s new crime pic, In The Shadow Of The Moon. Netflix officially announced the production which beagn on July 4 with Boyd Holbrook (Logan, Narcos), Emmy nominee and Golden Globe/SAG winner Michael C. Hall (Safe, Cold In July), Cleopatra Coleman (The Last Man on Earth, White Famous) and Emmy Award nominee Bokeem Woodbine (Fargo (TV), Spider-Man: Homecoming) starring.
Gregory Weidman and Geoff Tock penned the script which tells of a Philly police officer’s struggle with a lifelong obsession to track a mysterious serial killer whose crimes defy explanation. Mickle is also producing the film with partner Linda Moran for Nightshade, with producers Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and Rian Cahill for L.A.-based Automatik and Ben Pugh for 42. Automatik’s Fred Berger and 42’s Rory Aitken are executive producing.
To name a few, Kavanaugh-Jones and Berger have recently partnered on films such as Max Minghella’s Teen Spirit, Leigh Whannell’s Upgrade and Lenart Ruff’s The Titan (also from 42, who has a multi-year first-look development, financing and production deal for feature films with Netflix.). The two are currently in tow with André Øvredal’s upcoming Norwegian fantasy epic, Mortal, Karyn Kusama’s Destroyer and Chris Weitz’s Operation Finale.
