NEW GROUP Stacks To Terrifying Heights In The Official U.S. Trailer
Director Yûta Shimotsu (Best Wishes to All) will next succeed with his latest body horror, New Group, in the U.S. on horror streamer, Shudder, from November 6. The film stars Anna Yamada, Yuzu Aoki, and Pierre Taki.
Shimotsu marks his second directing effort with New Group, screening at various festivals including the Fantasia International Film Festival and at Sitges before releasing in Japan back in June. He directs from a script he wrote with Momoko Sahara, for the story of a high school student whose world collapses when her classmates gradually descend into a strange cult-like mentality compelling them to transform simple gymnastics routines into a nightmarish dance of death.
New Group also stars Ren Komai, Danhi Kinoshita, Arisa Sasaki, Kano Rogers, Jun Hosoi, Ryo Matsumoto, Tomomitsu Adachi, Natsuko Sakakura, Takashi Shimizu, and Tomoya Maeno.
