NIGHT HEAT: Jang Dong-Gun And ‘Bloodhounds’ Star Woo Do-Hwan Lead New Crime Thriller Currently Filming In Thailand
I’m late to the party on this but Korean news outlets have reported the production already underway as of a few weeks ago for action crime thriller, Night Heat. What’s more is that it stars none other than Woo Do-hwan, who lit up our streaming thrills in Jason Kim’s Netflix episodic action-packed drama, “Bloodhounds,” topped off with actors Jang Dong-gun and Lee Hye-ri also leading the roster.
Love House helmer Kim Pan-su is directing from his own script a crime thriller spanning a 24 hour period that centers on a group of people fighting to survive in the city of Bangkok, Thailand where even during the night the heat continues. According to reports at Max Movie, Jang plays Baek, an Interpol agent dispatched to the region to take down a drug organization in the region where Taegang, played by Woo, works as a collector for the org, and also runs an illegal underground fighting arena. Rounding out the cast are Park Seong-hoon, Kim Min, and Kim Min-seok.
Night Heat hails from production outlet Hive Media Corp, the same label that produced Kim Sung-su’s recent political thriller, 12.12: The Day.
You know, now that I think about it, Google Translate doesn’t always get it right, but I used it to translate the page and it changed the title to “Tropical Nights,” which to me sounds so much more scintillating for a movie title, internationally. Either way, I’m just thrilled to see Woo and Jang back in the mix. “Bloodhounds” was fantastic and seeing Woo throw hands again is something that ought to rile up fans once more. Couple this with Jang who has an immaculate record of headlining some thrilling pictures in his day from Taegukgi and 2009: Lost Memories to the “Arthdal Chronicles” TV drama franchise, and well, I’m sold.
