ONMYOJI-0: Warner Bros. Japan Swoops In With A Teaser For Shimako Sato’s Fantasy Origin Tale
Warner Bros. Japan took to the interwebs in its Tuesday timezone premiering the first official teaser for Onmyoji-0. Based on Baku Yumemakura’s longstanding novels, the film was directed by Shimako Sato whose credits partly include the Eko Eko Azarak and Unfair films, as well as 2008’s Takeshi Kaneshiro starrer, K-20: Legend Of The Mask.
According to notes made public via the studio, Sato’s new fantasy epic, penned under Yumemakura’s stewardship with Jujutsu consultation by essayist and author Nanami Kamon, is aiming for an all-new original story that focuses on the early days of Abe no Seimei in his studies to become an Onmyoji – a monastic practitioner of magic, mystics, astrology and divination.
Cast and crew info apart from what’s been made available thusfar remain a mystery until the studio deems it so. In the meantime, check out the sweeping and majestic teaser below ahead of its Golden Week release in the new year!
