Director Godefroy Ryckewaert‘s 2014 action-packed shortfilm, Shadows Of 13 proved to be one of the most exhilarating and poignant pieces of work I have ever seen, if I may say so myself. It certainly drew some happy tears for me by the end and if you have seen it, you might get an idea as to what I mean.
That said, hopefully you HAVE seen it already, because Ryckewaert is back this month with Shadows Of 13: Part II, and while it plays slightly more thinly on the narrative of its predecessor as more characters are added, we also get more ground covered with a story that promises a lovely share of compelling drama with tons of impressive action by the cast. French/Cambodian actor, martial artist and stuntman Daren Nop returns to the lead role in a tale of stoic, self-sacrificial heroism which pits a young homeless man with unique fighting skills against the criminal underworld of Paris’s 13th district, hence the title.
Nop wrote the screenplay and choreographed the action featuring the stunt stylings of France’s own Cascade Stunt Team, with actors David Nop, Chhay Den Nop and Lucy, Taken 2 & 3 and The Transporter Legacy stunt/fight coordinator Alain Figlarz, also starring. Check it out below!
