MEDIEVAL Adds Til Schweiger
Monday will mark the start of principal photography for Czech action epic, Medieval. The film’s latest exciting addition to the cast now brings news of actor Til Schweiger, according to Jeremy Kay at Screendaily.
Ben Foster covets the central role of legendary 14th century war hero and strategist, Jan Zizka, who, along with his band of men are bound with the fate of an heiress to take down a rival king. As the report notes, Schweiger will portray Rosenberg, the wealthiest lord in the land with Caine playing Lord Boresh, Czech King Wenceslaus IV’s right-hand man.
Schweiger is best known for 2016 TV series of late, Tschiller: Off Duty, as well as roles in Green Inferno, Atomic Blonde and as the terse and terrifying Nazi killer Hugo Stiglitz in Inglorious Basterds.
Petr Jákl is directing this, his third film his own script with Cassian Elwes producing. Medieval hails from from J.B.J. Film and Elevated Films was privately funded next to backing from Czech national and regional institutions such as the Czech Film Fund, the Prague Film Fund and Creative Europe – Media, as well as the Middle Bohemia Region, the Capital city of Prague, and the President of the Senate of Parliament of the Czech Republic.
Schweiger is repped by APA and Framework Entertainment.
