I’m quite happy that we’re done with the Alice-centric regurgitation of past action scene faves that currently comprises the earlier Milla Jovovich-led Resident Evil saga. That said, I’m not too sure just what the heck a 4 Non Blondes hit from the 90s is doing in the first official trailer for Johannes Roberts’s Resident Evil: Welcome To Raccoon City, but if things look up then I’ll be pleased if this latest game-based film franchise reboot can offer something refreshing and all the more better from a conceptual standpoint.
Returning to the origins of the massively popular RESIDENT EVIL franchise, fan and filmmaker Johannes Roberts brings the games to life for a whole new generation of fans. In RESIDENT EVIL: WELCOME TO RACCOON CITY, once the booming home of pharmaceutical giant Umbrella Corporation, Raccoon City is now a dying Midwestern town. The company’s exodus left the city a wasteland…with great evil brewing below the surface. When that evil is unleashed, a group of survivors must work together to uncover the truth behind Umbrella and make it through the night.
Resident Evil: Welcome To Raccoon City stars Kaya Scodelario, Hannah John-Kamen, Robbie Amell, Tom Hopper, and Avan Jogia, with Donal Logue, and Neal McDonough, and opens exclusively in theaters November 24.
