Announced last year and arriving promptly to blow minds into the new year, director Ding Sheng is back with S.W.A.T., poised for a December 29 release in China. It’s a fitting succession for a director who has proven himself more than capable of directing intense sequences seen in Police Story: Lockdown anda remake of A Better Tomorrow – now focusing his attention on a tactical thriller narrative inspired by Beijing’s Blue Sword Unit.
Two teams within the SWAT team are competing for the opportunity to participate in the International police and army skill competition. In the meantime, drug lords are spreading their power inside the city, to conquer the drug lords, the two teams combined effort, and defeated the evil.
S.W.A.T. stars Ling Xiaosu, Jia Nailiang, Jin Chen and Zhang Yunlong among a raft of actors who trained heavily for their roles, with tactical experts also serving as consultants on the project. The cast also includes Kevin Lee (Wolf Warrior) and Robert Knepper (Transporter 3).
