Scott Adkins Joins The Fourth Installment Of The JOHN WICK Saga
Filming on the fourth installment of the John Wick saga has already begun and with a cast that already bodes with promise. Late Tuesday, that roster got a little bigger with word actor and martial arts film star Scott Adkins is in talks a role in the hitman franchise, joining him with Keanu Reeves, Rina Sawayama, and Shamier Anderson, and screen action legends Hiroyuki Sanada and Donnie Yen.
The move notably also marks a reunion between Yen and Adkins who fought each other to the brutal finish in the fourth and final chapter of the Yen-led Ip Man saga, Ip Man 4: The Finale, which released in the U.S. via Well Go USA. Beyond that, Adkins has long been a favorite since his heyday as an up-and-coming TV actor and stunt performer; his credits partly include having worked on Jackie Chan’s The Accidental Spy and The Medallion, Louis Leterrier’s Unleashed starring Jet Li, X-Men Origins: Wolverine with Hugh Jackman, Marvel’s Doctor Strange, American Assassin with Dylan O’Brien and Michael Keaton, and a string of niche action thrillers from directors such as Isaac Florentine (Undisputed 2-4), Jesse V. Johnson (Avengement, Triple Threat) and James Nunn (Green Street 3, upcoming One Shot) to name a few.
Directed by stunt professional/filmmaker Chad Stahelski, Shay Hatten and Michael Finch penned the film ahead of its May 27, 2022 release.
Deadline first reported the news.
