SEEK: Catch The Official Japanese Teaser And Trailer For Shane Kosugi’s Ninja-Fueled Directing Debut
Ninjas have come a long way with their first cinematic breakthrough dating as far back as 1912. Leave it to one of its more recent stalwarts, Shane Kosugi, to keep the spirit alive in Seek, the latest iteration of the long-celebrated subgenre which finally hits Japan theaters in July after more than a year of winning festival crowds over.
Based on a pre-existing shortfilm concept, Seek features actor Kansuke Asano who leads the cast for the story of an assassin, whose covert non-federal organization of ninjas becomes mired in criminal conspiracy when a ruthless and vengeful Yakuza leader sets his eyes on a highly explosive liquid now up for grabs. A sequel is also in the works, and our platform is currently looking to learn more in an interview with Shane that is still forthcoming.
Seek also stars Mikako Yoshida, Tomohisa Yuge, and Miyu Ogawa, and Nahara, along with co-stars and fight and stunt coordinators Yasuaki Ishii and Yugo Ishii, and a sterling performance by Shane’s brother, Kane Kosugi as the main villain.
