SHIELD-LESS: Actor/Producer Dennis Jusino Back In Development With Feature Revenge Thriller
It’s been around seven years since we’ve touched on actor and producer Dennis Jusino, who at the time starred in Gerald J. Godbout III’s crime thriller short, The Trade.
With plenty of time past as is the usual case for the development of any independent project, Jusino is officially moving forward under his Jusino Productions banner with crime thriller, Shield-Less.
“Shield-Less is one of those stories that never die.” says Jusino who made the announcement on Thursday in a Facebook post. “I believe timing is everything and the timing to begin writing this feature script has never been better.”
Jusino began conceiving the project with concept trailer back in Spring 2012 with a local cast and crew locked in at the time. While cutting the trailer, eventually moving on to other projects, including action drama, MMA, currently standing tall with well over twenty wins in the festival circuit including the Gold Award at the 2018 International Independent Film Awards, Best Trailer at the 2018 Global Film Festival Awards, and tje Silver Telly Award from the 40th annual Telly Awards.
In his statement to Film Combat Syndicate, Jusino cites the challenges he faced years earlier on to the benefit of his growth in the course of growing the concept for Shield-Less.
“A lot of the story has expanded, as expected.” he says. “Changes were made, that’s nothing new to a developing script. I feel the character; the emotions of the story and this world are a little bit clearer.”
An earlier version of Shield-Less centers on a detective whose resolve to avenge the loss of his family forces him to switch gears and abandon the rules he once considered truly lawful. Forward-looking script evolution may see a change in the plot or how the story culminates in the long haul.
Jusino is penning the script and is expected to star. Further cast and crew details remain pending at present.
“Taking this step seems like the most natural move right now and there has been no developing content for this project since I wrapped it.” says Jusino. “As of now, the idea is to write the script and produce the film in-house, although I am open to any opportunities that can expand the horizons to this project. I have always put the product above all, so let’s see where this story takes us.”
