It was in 2007 when Security director Alain Desrochers arrived to the scene with Nitro, a race-against-time action thriller about a family man forced into a dangerous mission in order to save his wife. Fast forward about nine years later and the filmmaker was finally able to pursue a sequel returning actor Guillaume Lemay-Thivierge back in the dauntless role of Max in 2016’s Nitro Rush. Time will tell where Nitro and Nitro Rush helmer Alain Desrochers’s latest, Security, will bow next. For now, U.K. home viewers are currently on deck for the film’s release on July 5 and Arrow Films has its first trailer rolling online as of this week. An ex-special services veteran (Antonio Banderas), down on his luck and desperate for work, takes a job as a security guard at a run-down mall in a rough area of town. On his first night on the job, he opens the doors up to a distraught and desperate young girl who has escaped and fled from a hijacking of the Police motorcade that was transporting her to testify as a trial witness in a briefcase. Filmmaker Alain DesRochers’s Canadian action thriller, Nitro, was a hit in 2007 following actor Guillaume Lemay-Thivierge as a former drag racer on a mission to save his girlfriend’s life. Fast forward to 2016 and while DesRochers’s momentum will see him through to next year with the Antonio Banderas-led action flick, Security, fans of Nitro may be delighted for its forthcoming sequel. For this, we get Nitro Rush with Lemay-Thivierge back in action from a script by Martin Girard that now sees our protagonist forced to escape prison and play by the rules of an elaborate criminal organization in order to save his 17 year-old son. Alas, it’ll take a lot more than swift turns behind the wheel as indicated by the latest official trailer below which locks, loads and doesn’t pull punches on the action at the least. It was back in early October that investments were secured for at least two more films in a deal struck between producer Steven Paul of SP International Pictures, SSXH Beijing and Max Screen Film Distribution. One of those two films mentioned was Alain Desrochers‘s latest from Millenium Films, Security, with a $15 million dollar budget now being applied to its photography with locations set in Bulgaria at Nu Image studios, and possibly China depending on the direction of the production. That stated, veer over to Cung Le‘s most recent Instagram post where he’s joined by lead actor Antonio Banderas who, in the film, will play a newly hired security guard forced to protect a young girl from a deadly gang looking to silence her before her day in court as a witness. SP International Deals China Co-Prods For THE EXPENDABLES 4 And SECURITY

Producer Steven Paul made a significant showing this year while on hand at Cannes with deals pertaining to forthcoming China co-productions, High Speed and an upcoming Tekken remake to name a few. This week he’s back in the headlines with word on two new titles now well on the way from Nu Image/Millenium. Variety reports that director Alain Desrochers’s $15 million dollar action thriller, Security, and the currently-developing fourth installment of The Expendables have equity backing as China co-productions following deals made on behalf by Paul’s SP International Pictures made on behalf of SSXH Beijing and Max Screen Film Distribution. Security has reportedly begun principal photography in Bulgaria with Antonio Banderas and Ben Kingsley starring, though plot, date and other cast info details currently remain unknown.
