PAINTER: Amber Midthunder And Alan Ritchson Topline Stunt Coordinator Garrett Warren’s Feature Debut
Painter is the name of the latest action franchise hopeful from stunt-multihyphenate Garrett Warren (Road House, God Is A Bullet, Logan) who will make his feature directing debut. John Wick penman Derek Kolstad will write the script for a cast led by Amber Midhunter, and Alan Ritchson, according to Deadline’s Andreas Wiseman who has more: Painter centers on a young woman, trained from a young age, who must employ every skill in her arsenal to rescue her father after he is kidnapped. Ritchson and Kolstad are just two of the producers listed for the film which FilmNation is taking to buyers at the American Film Market in November. That it’s a female-fronted endeavor with Midthunder leading makes it all but promising given the reception of Hulu hit “Predator” saga entry, Prey, which shot to acclaim among fans and critics. REACHER: Season Three Of The Hit Amazon Prime Series Is Now Filming
Reacher series creator Nick Santora did the world some serious justice with the season one premiere of the hit show based on the novels by Lee Childs last year. With season two set to kick off its first three episodes on Amazon Prime in the next few weeks, the show is now being primed for a third season already in production according to a new video announcement attached to an extended clip courtesy of series star Alan Ritchson. News of the show’s third season broke at CCXP 2023 in São Paulo, Brazil, as reported by Variety on Saturday. Following the show’s three-part premiere, season two of Reacher will commence with weekly episodes on Fridays through January 19. Read more at Variety.
MOTOR CITY: Alan Ritchson Heads ‘Wanted’ Director’s Next Actioner
It’s not the Wanted sequel some fans may still be pining for, but a Temur Bekmambetov-directed action picture is still something people will line up for, and here to test that theory is the upcoming Cannes sales launch by Black Bear International for action thriller, Motor City, starring Alan Ritchson. Ritchson will play John Miller, a Detroit man released from prison, who unleashes a rampage of brutal vengeance on those who framed him. The Detroit-set film will be “characterized by immersive visual storytelling, with stunningly choreographed and stylized action sequences,” according to a statement. Variety’s Leo Barraclough notes that WME Independent will co-represent domestic rights on Motor City with Stampede at the Marche du Film. Nerd Reactor is reporting via Deadline that actor Alan Ritchson is being picked to play the character Raphael in Jonathan Liebesman’s upcoming film, Ninja Turtles, which starts shooting in New York City this April and is slated for theatrical release on June 6, 2014. The news comes a month after co-producer Michael Bay and actress Megan Fox made amends (as well as headlines) with the word that Fox will be joining the official cast as news reporter April O’Neil.
