Media mogul Shannon Lee has been pursuing a biopic about her late father, actor and martial arts sensation Bruce Lee for years but now it looks like we have a solid footing over at Sony’s 3000 Pictures. What’s more is that celebrated Life Of Pi, Hulk and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon director Ang Lee is on deck to direct the film with none other than his son, Mason Lee (The Hangover II, Who Killed Cock Robin?) attached to play the part of the screen legend. The film had been in the works as of 2015 for Bruce Lee’s daughter who launched Bruce Lee Enterprises a year prior. One project would have seen the then-titled “Little Dragon” with Shekaur Kapur at the helm as of its announcement back in 2017 which unfortunately never came to pass, while other screen incarnations of her father would materialize through George Nolfi’s Birth Of The […]

Universal Big things are finally impending after more than two decades for Paramount and Skydance’s long-awaited production of fantasy action thriller, Gemini Man. Will Smith, cast early on as the lead will be joined by actor Clive Owen and actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead as trade news sources THR and Variety have noted in recent memory for Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon helmer Ang Lee to direct. The project was originally set up at Disney from a pitch by Darren Lemke in 1997 but remained on the backburner due to the lack of technology for the same actor to produce dual performances on screen. Nowadays with such tech on hand, the Bright star will lead the film as an over-the-hill assassin who becomes the prime target of a cloning program that assigns his killer, a rendition of himself 25 years younger, to take him out. Owen will star as the head of […]
Darren Lemke’s pitch for assassin thriller, Gemini Man has been in a development slump for twenty years before news finally picked up last Friday. Thus, with the film ultimately landing at Skydance and acclaimed director Ang Lee possibly game to helm the pic, it looks like the film could have its star. Leave that for actor Will Smith to decide per the latest report from THR as he’s being courted to play an aging assassin forced back in the game when he’s pitted against a version of himself 25 years younger and in his prime. The studio is much more keen on the film’s possibility through the advancement of technology used to replicate actor’s faces as seen in films like Captain America: Civil War and The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button. Lee will be joined by Jerry Bruckheimer who will produce with Don Murphy executive producing. Smith, in the wake of […]

Titled Gemini Man, Ang Lee (Billy Long’s Halftime Walk, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) is reported to be in talks to direct the film once housed at Disney as a pitch from Darren Lemke until Skydance scooped it up last October. The plot, according to THR‘s exclusive, would follow an aging assassin on his way out of the game until he finds himself fighting a clone 25 years younger and stronger than him. The film reportedly stayed stagnant over the years due to the lack of technology required to replicate actors’ faces as we now see exemplifed with Jeff Bridges in Tron: Legacy, Brad Pitt in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Robert Downey Jr. as seen in Captain America: Civil War, and even to some degree in James […]
