Following its unveiling at the JAFF Market to kick the week off, the official launch teaser for Queen Of Malacca (or Ratu Malaka) made its online premiere on Monday with a promising new outlook for the good stalwarts at Visinema and Indonesian cinema as a whole. Angga Dwimas Sasongko is directing the film now bound for 2027, and a cast led by Pangku star Claresta Taufan, who added the following, via Variety‘s Naman Ramachandran: “Stepping into my first action film was a shock to the system — in the best way. Folks lining up for the 18th Jogja-Netpac Asian Film Festival kicking off next weekend will be among the first to catch Angga D. Sasongko’s new espionage thriller, 13 Bom di Jakarta (internationally titled 13 Bombs. 13 BOMBS: Don’t Miss This Trio Of Explosive Behind The Scenes Featurettes For The New Indonesian Action Thriller

I haven’t written about Angga D. Sasongko in a hot ass minute. Alas, it comes with great timing that several featurettes are currently circulating the webs for his newest espionage thriller, 13 Bombs. Regionally known as 13 Bom di Jakarta, the movie stars Putri Ayuduya, Ardhito Pramono, Chicco Kurniawan, Lutesha, Ganindra Bimo, Rio Dewanto and more for the story of an intelligence unit tasked with the real-time rigor of investigating the alleged connection between two young entrepreneurs, and a band of terrorists who’ve planted a baker’s dozen of bombs all over the city. WME Independent represented the film to buyers at the American Film Market over the past weekend as well, while Indonesian distro outlet Visinema touts the action thriller nowadays for a December 28 release. Streaming isn’t without its share of controversy, although it really depends on the platform in terms of what kinds of titles are given wider releases outside their respective regions. With Netflix, it certainly helps that they’ve placed Indonesia under their radar and have met the demand accordingly with such releases like Ben & Jody, the new feature to hit the streamer from recurring director Angga Dwimas Sasongko. Sasongko has returned with a third outing in the Filosofi Kopi saga. Reports are now circulating that the company is currently partnering with Lifelike Pictures to develop its first feature film in Indonesia titled 212 Warrior, inspired by the 185-part series of martial arts novels from author Bastian Tito.
