As reported by Deadline this week, Weaponized and The Outsider helmer Timothy Woodward Jr.’s new revenge thriller, Til Death Do Us Part, has been acquired by Cinedigm for acquired all North American rights ahead of its summer release.
What’s happening right now with “Terrifier 2” is something that basically never happens. A modestly-budgeted independent slasher movie gets a higher-budgeted (but still very modest) sequel? Sure, fine. That’s not unheard of. That sequel getting released on hundreds of screens across the U.S.? That’s a rarity. Even rarer still is that sequel continuing to gain momentum as the weeks go by. Yet, that is exactly what “Terrifier 2” is doing.
Neal McDonough has the sort of resume that most actors would kill for. Working nonstop since the early 90s, he has had memorable roles in more noteworthy projects than can be easily listed. McDonough has been prominently featured in BAND OF BROTHERS, JUSTIFIED, MINORITY REPORT, RAVENOUS, ARROW, and CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER for example. And that impressive list barely scratches the surface of the truly staggering amount of quality work McDonough has turned in for movies, television, and even video games over his 30+ years of acting.
Following acquisition announcements in January, the official trailer is now online for Boon, the sequel to the inaugural 2020 crime thriller, Red Stone. Both are directed by Derek Presley who is joined once more by lead actor Neal McDonough, both who penned the pic.
Cinedigm officially announced on Friday that it has acquired all US and Canadian rights to Emmy-nominated Sam Logan Khaleghi’s upcoming thriller, Devil’s Night: Dawn Of The Nain Rouge. Pic hails from Kyyba Films and SLK Media Group, whose Khaleghi features with a cast that includes actress Jesi Jensen (Legends & Lies) and Nathan Kane Mathers (brother of Marshall Mathers/Eminem) in his screen debut.
Now available on Digital, VOD and DVD, Cinedigm Corp is spearheading Tuesday’s North American/Canadian release of The Racket Boys director Brandon Willer’s new action comedy, All For Nikki.
Cinedigm recently picked up on Badland and Swell director Justin Lee’s latest ensemble crime thriller, Final Kill, formerly titled The Protector. The company just aired the official trailer which you can now view above, along with a poster below.
It’s kind of True Lies, but in reverse and with a lower budget, really. Though the caliber of hijinks is definitely there in Drew Mylrea’s Spy Intervention which bowed its official trailer recently after its announcement late last year.
CinedigmCinedigm has officially acquired director Drew Mylrea’s new film, Spy Intervention. Drew Van Acker (TV’s Pretty Little Liars) stars in the upcoming spy comedy penned by Mark Famiglietti and Lane Garrison for its select big screen release in February 2020.
Cinedigm Corp is signaling consumers with an official trailer for their latest acquired crime thriller, Awake. The film will release on digital and VOD on August 16, with a Blu-ray and DVD release to follow on September 24, 2019.
I can’t iterate enough how important it is that we don’t fall asleep on Jon Foo. The martial arts wunderkind who appeared in hits like House Of Fury, Tom Yum Goong and Universal Soldier: Regeneration is back once again with Timothy Woodward Jr. (4Got10, Weaponized) for western thriller, The Outsider, and the official trailer is here following its acquisition by Cinedigm a few days ago.

Deadline’s Patrick Hipes is revealing the latest look at upcoming action thriller, The Silencer, reporting a September 4 VOD release from Cinedigm. Director Timothy Woodward Jr. reconvenes with actors Johnny Messner (Weaponized) and Danny Trejo (4Got10), telling of a retired hitman who must resurrect his skills to wage a one-man war against his former employer when his step-daughter is kidnapped.
Sean Mick wrote the film that teams Messner alongside former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, Tito Ortiz opposite Trejo’s role partnering with that of Ortiz’s fellow former UFC cohort Chuck Liddell; both, who share several film credits apart from contact sports fighting, compete against one another in 2004 and 2006 with Liddell claiming the victor. Both have been rivals since, which may very well be a clear selling point for this film once the hype gets going beyond this point.
“Status Media delivers another potent picture — Silencer is an explosive actioner with strong production values, high dramatic stakes and the added bonus of pitting legendary MMA rivals, Tito Ortiz and Chuck Liddell, against one another,” said Yolanda Macias, Cinedigm’s EVP Acquisitions. “Timothy and his team are excellent partners, and we are thrilled to be working with them on Silencer.”

With audiences in North America and select titles for international territories in their purview, the first film to release from their slate will be bomb disposal thriller Shockwave starring Andy Lau, which accrued $58 million dollars at the international box office, and eventually arrived on DVD, Blu-Ray and Digital last week from Cinedigm.
Following suit is Alan Mak’s Hong Kong actioner, Extraordinary Mission, which Crimson Forest gave a limited release last Spring. Also in tow are Cheng Wei-Hao’s Taiwanese horror hit, The Tag-Along on February 6, 2018 through Digital and its bigger scale sequel in April on DVD, and actor and martial artist Tiger Chen’s sci-fi, Kung Fu Traveler, also in April.
Crimson Forest was formed in 2010 and is led by CEO, Jonathan Lim whose long-term film credits partly include Pali Road and period drama, The Jade Pendant. The announcement on Thursday cites their partnership will further underscores Cinedigm’s expanding library of Asian titles and broadcasting span, as well as its global profile and distribution potential following confirmation in November of Hong Kong-based Bison Capital’s Bision Entertainment Investment, Ltd, for its completed strategic investment in the firm.
“Jonathan has built a deep network of contacts across Asia. His experience and relationships with the major studios and producers within the territory give him the ability to source high quality releases,” said Yolanda Macias, Executive Vice-President of Acquisitions for Cinedigm. “Crimson Forest is quickly becoming the premium, go-to label for truly exciting genre pictures with strong production values and talent immediately recognizable to fanboys and fangirls everywhere. We could not be more thrilled to partner with Crimson Forest to bring these diverse pictures to discerning audiences.”
“Cinedigm has a top shelf marketing team, direct sales relationships, and a strong infrastructure that will help us continue to grow both our film slate and the Crimson Forest brand, both in North America and on an international basis,” said Lim. “We look forward to a long and successful collaboration with them.”
The deal was negotiated by Cinedigm’s Melody Fowler, Vice-President of Acquisitions, and Lim on behalf of Crimson Forest Films.
TVB
2008 saw the emergence of a bolstering film franchise in the making with absolute starpower in the form of Ip Man‘s iconic portrayal of late Wing Chun grandmaster by actor Donnie Yen. As of next year, that count is expected to increase with up to four movies and a box office gross of over $250 million dollars in its wake, and with rumors swarming about action star Jackie Chan possibly getting attached to the pic, the fan fervor is far from over.
With this, it’s been an electric period for martial arts fandom in the past nine years with Yen just the first of several actors thereafter to stake their claim in various other film or television properties. Acclaimed actor Anthony Wong sought to his own iteration in Herman Yau’s Ip Man: The Final Fight, preceded a month earlier by actor and singer Kevin Cheng lending his own gravitas to Shandong TV network’s own depiction of the martial arts legend courtesy of TVB with the help of the grandmaster’s sons, Ip Chun and Ip Ching.
With this, considering Ip Man’s rise in popularity over the years, it’s pretty simple to see Suzhou Funa Films and Television’s small screen production might have an audience overseas, and the good folks at Cinedigm are officially announcing their investment in the property with Thursday acquisition of the Ip Man TV Series. KSM GmbH’s Benjamin Krause and Cinedigm’s Kelsey Straight negotiated and closed the deal for Cinedigm’s purview extending between North America and Canada, the U.K. and Ireland, with broadcasting rights on all TV and digital platforms, including TV-VOD, TV EST, EST, IVOD, SVOD, AVOD & CIDM OTT.
The Wing Chun grandmaster IP MAN (Kevin Cheng) spends all his life in pursuit of the authentic martial arts realm. Gaining enlightenment throughout his childhood and adolescence, IP MAN undergoes a transformation and becomes a Kung Fu legend, ascending to the highest ranking of martial arts. After fleeing to Hong Kong, IP MAN deliberately keeps a low-profile, but he is inevitably engaged in conflicts. IP MAN is in a life-and-death struggle every day, but the hardship enormously brings out the awe-inspiring righteousness and fearlessness as a martial artist hidden inside him. In order to inflict one last strike in the ring, IP MAN is heading back to Fo Shan to be victorious with love and battle.
Per the announcement: “We are thrilled to continue our distribution for the IP Man franchise after previously distributing the movies IP Man, IP Man 2, and IP Man: The Final Fight for limited digital accounts,” said Yolanda Macias, EVP of Acquisitions and Digital Sales for Cinedigm, “We have great expectations for the first IP Man TV series, as affirmed by the success of the feature films and the franchise’s loyal fanbase.”
“Since we have successfully released “IP Man 3” in the German Speaking Territories in 2016 and preparing release of the “IP Man” TV Series too, we are happy that Cinedigm has acquired the exploitation rights HV and Digital in our international Territories US and UK. Cinedigm has always proved its professional and successful way of exploiting a franchise,” said Benjamin Krause, CEO and founder of KSM.
