Traditionz To Release THE MARTIAL ARTS KID In Select Theaters Next Month!

Finally on par for release following a successful Kickstarter campaign last year and several promotional appearances since then is director Michael Baumgarten’s new anti-bullying action drama, The Martial Arts Kid from Traditionz Entertainment. The film’s release will be aimed at establishing Traditionz as a staple of martial arts film production and distribution, here and now piloting with a cast and crew brimming with well-known names like Don “The Dragon” Wilson and Cynthia Rothrock, and T.J. Storm with actor Jansen Panetierre in the title role opposite Matthew Ziff. Produced by martial artists, producer James Wilson and company president and veteran Hollywood stuntwoman Cheryl Wheeler with a script by Adam Marsh, Panettiere leads the cast in the coming-story of a Robbie who moves in with his aunt and uncle in Florida following the death of his mother. Director Mark Steven Grove‘s love for independent, low-budget filmlore and all things action and sci-fi has since led him to his latest labor, Star Raiders: The Adventures Of Saber Raine. Mark Dacascos To Direct And Star In SHOWDOWN IN MANILA In 2015

From L to R: Casper Van Dien, Alexander Nevsky and Mark Dacascos Rising action star Alexander Nevsky has been well on his way with his post-bodybuilding career with starring and producing films in the last several years, including Black Rose last year with fellow action legend Matthias Hues. Nowadays he’s resurging and it appears he’s got some great company for the forthcoming February production of the new film, Showdown In Manila. Word from Kung Fu Cinema’s forum indicates the film will be the directorial debut of its lead actor and action star, Mark Dacascos. Action superstars Don “The Dragon” Wilson (White Tiger) and Cynthia Rothrock (Mercenaries) were on hand to conduct some very important business this weekend at the Urban Action Showcase & Expo in New York City, including granting an official presentation of the full trailer for the first feature-length film from Wilson’s Traditionz Movie 1, LLC label, The Martial Arts Kid. Made in conjunction with New Jersey-based anti-bullying organization, Kickin It, the film, directed by Michael Baumgarten, centers heavily on its upward message with lead actor Jansen Panetierre starring in the title role. Filmmaker Dean Meadows is preparing for what he aspires to be a spectacular, brutal female-centric action thriller in the forthcoming production for Bitchfight. Actress, martial arts legend and International Sports Hall Of Famer Cynthia Rothrock was in Burbank, California to promote her latest family action drama, The Martial Arts Kid at Dragonfest on Sunday. Meanwhile, action fans were also able to get a glimpse of her very much more badass, bloody and not-so family-oriented all female action flick, Bitchfight, with producer and director Dean Meadows. Southeast Asia has been a longstanding beacon for stage-setting spectacular martial arts action films for many, many years, with the most recent being Ninja: Shadow Of A Tear, and the forthcoming release of Ekchai Uekrongtham’s Skin Trade to name a few. And this week, that trend continues with the latest jungle action thriller, White Tiger. Filmed in Thailand and Paupa New Guinea with director, Hong Kong action cinema veteran, actor and genre documentarian Toby Russell, the White Tiger was completed in 2012 following subsequent post-production until it was hampered by some legal issues at the time. (Originally posted on 1/23/13) Action superstar Don “The Dragon” Wilson shared some new pics from the Thailand set of the upcoming Toby Russell film White Tiger, also starring Cynthia Rothrock and the late Joe Lewis, with Team Sideswipe’s own Matt Mullins in the lead, and featuring action choreography by Kazu Patrick Tang. A tweet from Mullins on January 14th suggests we might not see a trailer for a little while longer. However, keep an eye out for a trailer for another film he will star in called King Of Vajara later this year.
