There’s something plenty fascinating about independent films that’s worth discussing. Otherwise, chalk it up to, well…time, seeing as it takes time to make a film. In all likelihood, it probably took more than seven years for Michael D. Olmos’s Green Ghost And The Masters Of The Stone the final product to flourish in time for its premiere at last year’s 20th Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival. Whatever the story is behind the wait, as far as we can tell following JoBlo’s AITH exclusive this week, the wait is now over as the film, formerly known as The Green Ghost, now has an official trailer (subbed AND unsubbed, but we’re sharing the subbed one…because we’re inclusive like that!), and an April 29 select theatrical release date from Gravitas Ventures. The cast is headlined by Charlie Clark whose own pre-existing webseries served as the basis for the film’s concept; Clark also […]
Director and executive producer Valeri Milev’s Bullets Of Justice certainly does what it sets out to do, per his own description of it “an absurdist nightmare designed to terrify and excite you.” To that end, it also leaves you in a state of perplexed thought as to just what the heck it is you’re watching. The film starts out as a unique bit of gory, dystopian fan service set during World War III where legendary bounty hunter, Rob (writer/producer/lead actor Timur Turisbekov), and his sexy assistant are on a mission to hunt down and kill the holy mother – a deplorable creature behind the creation of a race of Muzzles: human hybrid pig people born from an old U.S. experiment during the last world war. As the film picks up and the body count increases, Rob soon reunites with his sister, Raksha, while the two battle to uncover a conspiracy […]

Brothers Joey (Jesse Kove) and Steve Calderon (Pete Passaro) are part of a martial arts dynasty with a school run by their father, Mike (Martin Kove). While both were raised tough in the wake of their mother’s death, one brother chose to walk a path different from the other. That’s the setup Breaking Point helmer Joe Gawalis offers in his premise for sophmore feature, Bare Knuckle Brawler, offsetting a tale about a family like almost any other – dealing with its own share of problems but never losing the love. That tension gets its most trying moment in the hours when Mike and Steve learn of Joey’s death after taking a dangerous undercover assignment overseen by top police brass Frank (William DiMeo) to infiltrate an illegal fighting racket; The police also suspect the same people are behind a number of dead bodies popping up around the city. Armed with his […]

Where do we go when we die? And what would happen if Heaven no longer existed?”, says Justin Price, who in […]
The concept of chimeric creation as a means of scientific advancement is a pretty understandable basis for some pretty batshit sci-fi. And even batshit, for such a term, may be undercutting the effect now seen sampled in the Indiegogo pitch trailer for Wrong Turn 6 and Re-Kill helmer Valeri Milev’s latest, Bullets Of Justice. The Indiegogo fell short of its goal but with time and effort, the film is now finally in post-production and the word is that Auckland-based Black Mandala (Johnny Z) has come aboard in a producer capacity to help complete things. Hence the new official teaser above. Milev directs from a script written with Timur Turisbekov who stars in the action horror revenge thriller about a bounty hunter with a score to settle amidst a dystopian future in which a monstrous species of humanoid/pig hybrids spawned by the government decades earlier have now oppressed mankind. The early […]
Andrzej Bartkowiak’s MAXIMUM IMPACT stars Alexander Nevsky, Kelly Hu and Mark Dacascos and opens on September 27.
Revving up for a September 2018 release from Cinedigm, the new thriller, Silencer, is making way online with a polished and promising official trailer. Johnny Messner (Weaponized) takes the spotlight as a retired hitman forced to resurrect his deadly skillset and fight a one-man war against his former employer in order to rescue his kidnapped step-daughter. Danny Trejo (Machete) also takes front and center as the villain and with a remaining cast hellbent on selling a UFC match one way or another: MMA Rivals Tito Ortiz (Former UFC Champion, Boo 2! A Madea Halloween) and Chuck Liddell (Former UFC Champion & Hall of Famer, War Pigs). Timothy Woodward Jr. (Gangster Land, Hickok), directs. Take a look, courtesy of JoBlo!
Deadline’s Patrick Hipes is revealing the latest look at upcoming action thriller, The Silencer, reporting a September 4 VOD release from Cinedigm. Director Timothy Woodward Jr. reconvenes with actors Johnny Messner (Weaponized) and Danny Trejo (4Got10), telling of a retired hitman who must resurrect his skills to wage a one-man war against his former employer when his step-daughter is kidnapped. Sean Mick wrote the film that teams Messner alongside former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, Tito Ortiz opposite Trejo’s role partnering with that of Ortiz’s fellow former UFC cohort Chuck Liddell; both, who share several film credits apart from contact sports fighting, compete against one another in 2004 and 2006 with Liddell claiming the victor. Both have been rivals since, which may very well be a clear selling point for this film once the hype gets going beyond this point. “Status Media delivers another potent picture — Silencer is an explosive actioner with […]
2018 will be a banner year for actor and martial artist Alexander Wraith whose directorial debut, Fury Of The Fist And The Golden Fleece, boasts a raft of heavy hitters among its star-studded cast. Comedy Dynamics has reportedly picked up the film for a limited day-and-date release on May 25 with a story centered on The Fist, who after thwarting a robbery attempt, finds himself in the throes of the Super Boss whose evil plans include emasculating men via estrogen-pumped meat. Actor Sean Stone co-wrote the film with Wraith, as well as stars opposite celebrated American Ninja franchise star Michael Dudikoff, in addition to appearances by action legend Cynthia Rothrock, up-and-coming actress Bianca Brigitte VanDamme, and actors Ernie Reyes Jr., and Jeremy and Jason London. The latest report at Deadline also lists the film’s roster of cameos including and not limited to actors Danny Trejo, Tommy Davidson, Bill Goldberg, Taimak, […]
Writer and director Ross Patterson didn’t have many fucks to give last year when he went to YouTube and released his no-budget hybrid creature feature, Helen Keller VS. Werewolves. Rest assured, it wasn’t exactly a setback as it garnered him just enough attention from the film-hungry folks ovet at military brands Article 15 and Ranger Up who took to Indiegogo to crowdfund their latest sci-fi zombie romp, Range 15. Much to their avail, the crowdfunder was a success and the film has since become a reality with a cast and crew comprised of all veterans, and a story that pits a ragtag team of hard-drinking, partying soldiers and centers them as mankind’s last hope against the zombie apocalypse. In short, it’s their response to Hollywood’s lack of decent military cinemafare with a film, while indie in nature and schlocky depending on who you ask, that promises to bring you just […]
REVIEW: Director Christian Sesma is a filmmaker with a huge vision for action whilst working as optimally as possible with smaller budgets. Tonally, there’s a level of intensity that normally comes with a Sesma film, particularly when left unhindered, and much to our delight, we get to see a product fully into itself with his most recent action horror, The Nightcrew. Luke Goss leads the film as Wade, the leader of a team of hard-up bounty hunters who swoop in and recover Mei, a mysterious Chinese woman just as she’s about to be kidnapped. Little do they know, she turns out to be more than she appears as the team gets cornered in the middle of the midwestern desert at night by an army of hitmen at the behest of Mexican crimeboss, Aguilar, who has plans of his own for Mei. The film was written by Sesma and co-star and […]

Heavy hitters like Dolph Lundgren and Danny Trejo are among those listed in the cast with Michael Paré, Vivica A. Fox and lead actor Johnny Messner in a film that takes its cues from the gritty and suspenseful tones of movies like Django Unchained and Memento…meaning quite the brainteaser with some brutal fisticuffs and a few rounds to spare. SYNOPSIS: Brian Barnes [Johnny Messner] wakes up in the desert wounded and with no memory and no idea why he’s surrounded by eight bodies, a van with four million in cash and a van full of cocaine.
