Hollywood is especially good at delivering hearty spectacle for its action. Oftentimes there are productions that don’t always exude this in the finest form, and it’s at moments like Friday’s streaming release of Sam Hargrave’s feature directing debut, Extraction, when you’re thankful that it doesn’t fall into this category. Quite the welcoming opposite. After more than fifteen years, and ten in which he’s excelled massively on some of the biggest studio projects to hit the big screen, it’s understandable the level of frustration felt by such a big scale film hitting the home markets instead. Certainly, the unforeseeable circumstances of the current Covid-19 pandemic at the time of production factor into this. Nonetheless, you get what you’ve payed for in movie tickets and home sales, to the benefit of an astute industry stunt professional in Hargrave, who, much like many of his peers from the worldwide indie scene, including Eric […]
Industry stunt professional Sam Hargrave has amply proven himself in the stunt world for up to fifteen years, from his old Reel Kick stomping grounds on the indie scene to becoming one of the most prolific players of his craft. Having since stolen the show performing stunts and coordinating on multiple Marvel Cinematic Universe properties among other credits like Blood And Bone, The Accountant, Warrior and The Hunger Games franchise, he’s making way in 2020 with Extraction, signaling his feature directorial debut in reunion with MCU actor Chris Hemsworth. Tyler Rake (Chris Hemsworth) is a fearless black market mercenary with nothing left to lose when his skills are solicited to rescue the kidnapped son of an imprisoned international crime lord. But in the murky underworld of weapons dealers and drug traffickers, an already deadly mission approaches the impossible, forever altering the lives of Rake and the boy. An action-packed, edge-of-your-seat […]

Posted by Extraction on Friday, November 20, 2015 Actor Kellan Lutz’s post-Twilight career is flourishing pretty nicely. His progression s not as big nor as soon as one may have hoped, though it helps that he’s starred in a number of decent films to date, most notably Conor Allyn’s 2013 thriller, Java Heat in which he plays an AWOL solider in search of a terrorist. Such a film bodes nicely with a resumé that even accomodates a small leading role in an Expendables movie, and here and now following suit, his latest lead role in Steven C. Miller’s new […]
December 18 is going to be one crowded day at the movies with so many titles to choose from. However, if you haven’t had a plate-full by then and have a little more room left, Steven C. Miller‘s new action thriller, Extraction, ought to help hit the spot…you know, like a superman punch to the face or a swift kick to the sternum. Or something. SYNOPSIS: When a terrorist group kidnaps retired CIA field operative Leonard Turner, his son Harry Turner, a government analyst who has been repeatedly turned down for field service, launches his own unsanctioned rescue operation. Simon Rhee coordinated the action you’re about to see featuring Bruce Willis, Kellan Lutz and Gina Carano whose […]

I try to follow a lot of people who work in the entertainment field, namely stunt professionals. I primarily do this on Facebook where I ultimately end up subscribing to a lot of them since their friend lists are full to the hilt. In this case, I vaguely remember-it had to have been sometime between late April or May when I noticed actor, stunt performer and stunt coordinator James Lew posted an interesting set photo of himself and actress Emmanuelle Chriqui (pic below) while filming something called “Cleaners”. Apparently, in the early part of May, there was a major announcement involving Sony’s online entertainment medium, Crackle. Reports from various sources cited a NewFronts conference in New York City attended by a plethora of stars, representatives and investors. The announcements illustrate a Fall slate of digital content through film and webseries formats, spanning several genres. One of these includes a series […]
