The film commences principal photography in Budapest and Berlin beginning next month and casting info is well on the way this month. With a reboot of the second game in the works and Resident Evil: The Final Chapter takes shape for its January 2017 release (bearing in mind the new crowdfunding campaign to help one of its principle stuntwomen, Olivia Jackson, who was seriously injured during filming), it looks like another one is also in store and adding further to the roster of its previous CG-animated titles. I don’t have much else to add on the Die Hard franchise seeing as how the fifth one damn near put me to sleep throughout the whole act, but I am looking forward to what lies ahead for a possible sixth film. That said, previous efforts left us with the prospect of actor Bruce Willis being re-introduced to the franchise’s roots dating back to the Nakatomi Corporarion, originally introduced in the first film. I haven’t really kept up with the updates since then, but apparently the project is now being re-developed by Fox as the tentatively-titled Die Hard: Year One, based on a pitch from filmmaker Len Wiseman to Lorenzo di Bonaventura. Further supporting reports dating back to 2013, THR has now weighed in confirming the appearance of actor Chow Yun-Fat in the forthcoming sequel, Cold War 2. All the familiar faces will be returning in the new film as well, including Aaron Kwok and Tony Leung Ka-fai, actress Charlie Young and actors Eddie Peng and Aarif Rahman, with duo Longman Leung and Sunny Luk back on board as writers and directors.
