THE STRANGE TALENT OF LUTHER STRODE Film Adaptation Of Image Comics Runaway Action Horror Hit In The Works

Fans of Image Comics’s The Strange Talent Of Luther Strode can now set the clock as development of a feature film adaptation commences starting this week. Pic hails from Allnighter’s Dinesh Shamdasani, Hunter Gorinson, and Amanda Kruse. The trio are producing the pic alongside co-creators Tradd Moore, and with Justin Jordan who is adapting the comic and penning the script. The Strange Talent Of Luther Strode is described as a tale that “deftly splices together the common DNA of the superhero and slasher archetypes for a brash and bloody adventure that is equal parts comic-book escapism and action-horror hybrid”, much like Venom and Buffy The Vampire Slayer. GIDEON FALLS: James Wan, Hivemind Partner For New Hour-Long Horror Drama Based On Eisner-Winning Comic Series

A new series adaptation is in development as of last week’s announcement from Hivemind for Gideon Falls, based on the 2019 Eisner Award-winning comic series from Image Comics. James Wan will exec produce the hour-long series under his Atomic Monster banner in a freshman partnership with Hivemind. Gideon Falls will be Hivemind’s latest add to its current IP which also lists Netflix series The Witcher, Amazon’s The Expanse, and Sony Pictures’ 2020 Valiant feature adaptation, Bloodshot. Created by Jeff Lemire and Andrea Sorrentino who authored the comic, the atmospheric new horror mystery drama follows an ensemble cast of seemingly random strangers: a washed-up Catholic priest, an uncompromising female sheriff, and a young recluse obsessed with unraveling a conspiracy buried in his city’s trash. EC Comics, Hivemind Signal TV/Film Collab For WEIRD FANTASY Series And William Gaines Biopic

EC Comics is partnering with Hivemind for a new film and T.V. venture as of last of week, now eyeing Weird Fantasy to be the first of the roster. Based on the seminal 1950 comic series, William M. Gaines Agent, Inc., the proprietors of EC Comics will be joining Hivemind to grow a series aimed at tackling the kind of shocking and subversive sci-fi/fantasy lore and social concious issues that made a name for company over the years. “The EC library is a timeless literary achievement that deserves to stand alongside the works of Stephen King, Philip K. Dick, and H.P. DOGTOWN: Dave Bautista To Star In Bold Films’ ‘Body Bags’ Adapation

Mike Fleming Jr. at Deadline is bringing the latest on comic adaptation, Dogtown, set up at Bold Films for Dave Bautista to star. Kyle Ward (John Wick: Chapter Two) is penning the film derived from Body Bags, Jason Pearson’s Dark Horse imprint publication which also shared space with Image Comics during its run from 1996 through 2008. Packed with quite a bit of R-rated potential, Dogtown aims to perpetuate the original comic book’s style and irreverence with Bautista playing Mack Delgado, a professional bounty hunter notoriously known as a “body bagger”. Things take an awry turn for Mack when the daughter he never knew makes a surprise entry into his life in hopes of reconnecting with him.
