Ice Cube is reportedly negotiating to star opposite actor Dave Bautista in D.J. Caruso’s upcoming adaptation of Jay Bonansinga’s 1997 novel, Killer’s Game. The project, according to Mike Fleming Jr. at Deadline, marks the latest development following 20 years of languishing between hands of studios and directors who’ve passed it up, including Jason Statham.
“We’re writing the script right now, we’re writing away and basically, I’m waiting to see some pages and we’re excited for the idea and what it can be and of course bringing Kevin [Hart] and Ice Cube back together because they are the greatest odd couple in the world,” he said. “I’m impatiently waiting for a script to be given to me. We have some great ideas.”

It was last month that Deadline broke the news of a new comedy from New Line cinema called Fist Fight. The nostalgia will run a bit high here as the film is being described as similar in tone as Phil Joanou’s 1987 teen dramedy, Three O’Clock High with a script by Van Robichaux and Evan Susser, and with Richie Keen now up to direct following his work on short films and TV shows like the hit Showtime series, Shameless, things are finally coming together for cameras to begin rolling in the next two months.
Ride Along star Ice Cube and Horrible Bosses co-star Charlie Day are headlining the cast here which will see the story of a mild-mannered English teacher forced to deal with a colleague who thinks he’s trying to get him fired, and ultimately threatens to fight him after school…umm…work. 21 Laps is also backing the project and a release date is pending.

Award-winning music group, NWA became a purveyor of this for its time, and to say that message struck a sour note with critics would be nothing short of a HUGE understatement.
