Take A Bite Out Of The New Trailer For THE SHALLOWS

Long far and away from any further mention of remaking Akira, director Jaume Collet-Serra, has sunk his teeth into actress Blake Lively who leads his latest thriller, The Shallows. Sony is opening the film in June from a script by Anthony Jaswinski that sees Lively in the role of a wounded surfer forced atop a rock out to sea and into a battle of wits with a hungry great white shark 200 yards from her secluded beach getaway. Sony has released its official trailer this week and it doesn’t really hold back much as it reveals plenty about the film in a few of its twists. Otherwise, it hypes something different and pretty thrilling for Collet-Serra fans in need if a change from the usual Liam Neeson buttkickery. Personally, horror films rarely do anything for me, but this feels as intriguing as it looks. Check it out!

Neeson To Re-Team With Collet-Serra For THE COMMUTER

Universal Pictures Are you ready for some more Liam Neeson action? Lionsgate has already set up The Picture Company’s The Commuter since their acquisition last November from Studiocanal at the American Film Market, and judging by early reports, filming will soon begin in early 2016 if it hasn’t already. For this, we now bring the news from Deadline that Neeson will be rejoining director Jaume Collet-Serra, making this their fourth pairing since Unknown, Non-Stop and last year’s Run All Night with co-star Alex Kinnaman. Principal photography will be set in New York City with Neeson starring as a businessman on his way home who gets entangled in a criminal conspiracy that endangers himself and everyone around him. Producing are Andrew Rona and Alex Heineman along with a script by Bryan Willinger and Phil de Blasi. Warner Bros.'s AKIRA Gets New Life With A New Writer

Writer Marco J. Ramirez will be stepping in with Doug Petrie to carry on the story for Netflix’s Daredevil series upon its forthcoming second season. Beyond that, Ramirez’s name bares mentioning with reports now making the rounds that he’ll be penning the script to revive Warner Bros. long-awaited film adaptation of the 1982 classic manga/anime property, Akira. The report comes less than six months after it was reported that original author Otomo Katsuhiro would be launching his own efforts to get a live-action film going, ultimately in response to the last thirteen years of stops and starts in Hollywood. Much of the stagnation had been reportedly due to budget, scheduling and script issue, with Non-Stop and Run All Night helmer Jaume Collet-Serra eventually stepping down at the time after being attached back in 2013. But for director and producer Nguyen Anh Nguyen, that’s just fine by him, with the reception he is currently receiving from his own inspired take on the property in the form of a brand new trailer-style fan film now circulating the internet in pure, buzzworthy fashion! Liam Neeson is back and taking the action to new heights in a new clip from the upcoming release of director Jaume Collet-Serra‘s new film, Non-Stop. The film marks the second stint for the actor and director since the 2011 mystery thriller, Unknown, as well as another busy year for the actor who will appear this May in Seth MacFarlane’s A Million Ways To Die In The West, with developments currently being made for his upcoming return to the set with Olivier Megaton for Taken 3.
