Christmastime was a prominent time for filmmaker Kevin Barile who took to the holiday season last month to share with the world Hit-Girl, a fan film inspired from the brainchild of “Kick-Ass” creator Mark Millar. The short stars Angie Estevao in the title role and sees our burgeoning heorien take on a small army of home invaders led by the Tax-Man, played by Robert Dill. I’ve got a bit of an afternoon to tend to, but I’m also reminded that I’ll have to touch base with Kevin Barile at some point. I’ve been following his work for a decade now and he continues to be one of the most apt at assembling all the right components of action cinema-crafting, and his string of welcome festival premeires, award wins and noms is further proof of his veracity here. BLOOD THIRSTY: Sink Your Teeth Into Kevin Barile’s Award-Winning Action Horror Short
Independent filmmaker Kevin Barile’s been on a roll in the past month having made some headway at the most recent installment of the Action On Film MegaFest, particularly for his newest action short, Blood Thirsty, which won Best Breakout Performer for its star, Sierra Dietz, who also exec produced. The short is now running online, with Barile directing as well as designing the action alongside stunt coordinator Robert Steven Brown and the I Am Water Stunt Team. In a nutshell, it’s a vampiric action horror that’s more than meets the eye, so if you love a good serving of gore on top of your fanservice mash-up enjoyment, press play on the player above!

Screener Review: SAMURAI COP 2: DEADLY VENGEANCE (2016)
Considering I’m in my thirties as I wrote this, I suppose the late director Amir Shervan’s 1991 flop, Samurai Cop was something that I should already have seen by now. Well, I haven’t. Point in fact I had only seen it in December of late 2015, and long after the hype train took off stemmimg from the imminent fascination surrounding actor Mathew Karedas’s re-emergence from obscurity a few years ago. Help Kickstart Kevin Barile's Action Thriller Feature Debut, SAVING SARA
Acclaimed independent filmmaker, actor and martial artist Kevin Barile has been on my radar for a few years now, having worked on numerous shortfilms and just recently designing action sequences with fight choreographer Mario Rocha for actor Matthew Karedas’s return in Samurai Cop 2: Deadly Vengeance. Currently Barile is readying his latest short, Fight For Your Life, for a premiere this week at the Action On Film Fest in Monrovia, California while gearing up to host a martial arts choreography seminar there this Friday as well. In the meantime, Barile has a few things he’d like to make clear in officially stating his case with Rocha to produce their feature film debut, Saving Sara. Independent filmmaker Kevin Barile has been keeping himself pretty busy since 2008 when he relocated from the East coast to Los Angeles to go to film school. Nowadays, anyone who is an action fan will be likely to find him on YouTube showcasing his creativity as an up-and-coming actor, stuntman and fight choreographer, and his latest test fight short, Lift, is a nice little sampler of his growing skillset.
