Patrick Hughes (The Expendables 3, The Hitman’s Bodyguard, The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard) is well on the up-and-up at Netflix this season. The streamer’s latest acquisition of Hughes’ latest out of Sony Pictures, The Man From Toronto, will bow in all territories sans China later this year, following in line with Sony’s first look with the streamer in 2021.
The Man From Toronto is director Patrick Hughes’ newest endeavor from Sony Pictures. Production is slated to start in March with a potential reunion in store for actors Jason Statham and Kevin Hart following Hart’s cameo in David Leitch’s Fast And Furious Presents: Hobbs And Shaw.
Time will tell whether or not we learn more on any hopes for a third installment for the Ride Along franchise that began in 2014. Until then, Jumanji actor Kevin Hart will be seen starring from an action comedy pitch by Aeysha Carr titled On The Run which will reunite Hart with Will Packer in a producing capacity while a director remains pending.
As Deadline reported on Wednesday, Carr’s script will see Hart in the role of a hitman whose assignment botches when he learns his target isn’t who he expects. The film marks the latest partnership between Hart and Packer since Ride Along the Think Like A Man franchises; Hart’s Hartbeat Productions is producing next to Packer’s Will Packer Productions.
I think I remember this movie… it was called Tron at the time but… ah, well. The sequel for this particular franchise is here and December 20 is the date from Sony with director Jake Kasdan at the helm. Check out the official trailer below.
“We’re writing the script right now, we’re writing away and basically, I’m waiting to see some pages and we’re excited for the idea and what it can be and of course bringing Kevin [Hart] and Ice Cube back together because they are the greatest odd couple in the world,” he said. “I’m impatiently waiting for a script to be given to me. We have some great ideas.”
Ride Along 2 reunites the partners and brothers-in-law-to-be as they take on new crime in Miami. The absurdity quickly unfolds while tough cop and all-around cool guy James (Ice Cube) works to solve a major case with the mouthy wannabe Ben (Kevin Hart). In the riotous sequel to the action-comedy hit that first brought together the hilarious mismatched cops, “Ice Cube and Kevin Hart are the comedy duo of the year!” according to Dave Morales, KRIV-TV (Fox).
Kevin Hart and Ice Cube lead the lineup in Ride Along, the new film from the director and the producer of the blockbuster comedy Think Like a Man.
An international trailer for director Peter Segal‘s upcoming boxing comedy, Grudge Match, made its way online. Produced by Bill Gerber, Mark Steven Johnson, Michael Ewing and Ravi Mehta, the film sees actors Sylvester Stallone and Robert DeNiro playing former boxers who come out of retirement to settle an old score. The film also stars Kevin Hart, Alan Arkin, Kim Basinger and Jon Bernthal with a story and screenplay by Tim Kelleher and Rodney Rothman.
Yahoo! Movies unveiled the new trailer for the upcoming action-packed road comedy, Ride Along. Having reportedly greenlit a sequel, the new film from director Tim Story stars actors Kevin Hart, Ice Cube and Tika Sumpter in a story of a fast-talking security guard-turned-police academy trainee who whose first-hand on-field experience with a hard-as-nails detective will be the deciding factor on whether or not he will allow his sister to marry him.
For the past two years, high-school security guard Ben (Hart) has been trying to show decorated APD detective James (Cube) that he’s more than just a video-game junkie who’s unworthy of James’ sister, Angela (Tika Sumpter). When Ben finally gets accepted into the academy, he thinks he’s earned the seasoned policeman’s respect and asks for his blessing to marry Angela.
