If you can’t help but feel like Netflix is banking on the success of Rawson Marshall Thurber’s Central Intelligence and Tim Story’s Ride Along movies, you’re not alone. At any rate, you get what you get with the official trailer for Patrick Hughes’s The Man From Toronto which arrives on the streamer June 24 and stars Kevin Hart and Woody Harrelson.
A case of mistaken identity forces a bumbling entrepreneur to team up with a notorious assassin known as The Man from Toronto in hopes of staying alive.
It’s worth noting Hughes’s strengths here as he’s already shown himself to be a capable action/comedy filmmaker with The Expendables 3, as well as The Hitman’s Bodyguard and its sequel. He’s also directing a reimagining for The Raid at some point after this so maybe there’s some value in checking this one out. Fingers crossed!
