I’ve actually been busy catching up on other content and will be doing so for a good amount of time on top of other responsibilities I have at the moment. That’s not hindering me at all however from helping present the official trailer for season three of Marvel’s Jessica Jones which airs June 14. When Jessica (Krysten Ritter) crosses paths with a highly intelligent psychopath, she and Trish (Rachael Taylor) must repair their fractured relationship and team up to take him down. But a devastating loss reveals their conflicting ideas of heroism and sets them on a collision course that will forever change them both.

“Sometimes not even heroes can save themselves…” Such is the tagline for Netflix‘s third and final outing for Marvel’s Jessica Jones, which Netflix is teasing once more with a brand new behind-the-scene featurette with actress Krysten Ritter tackling directing duties this final season. Effectively season three also marks the last hoorah for all things Marvel on the streaming service following the cancellations of all of the other five shows in the past year, namely Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Defenders and The Punisher. Marvel’s Jessica Jones had a lukewarm take off in 2015 with Ritter in the title role, playing a binge-drinking ex-superhero-cum-private investigator afflicted by tragedy and an a villainous ex-lover whose machinations would render her with severe psychological trauma for years. The show continued with high drama and action in 2018 with Jones bitterly reuniting with her mother amid fracturing her friendships with neighbor and former assistant, […]

The trades are officially reporting that Punisher and Jessica Jones are no more with Netlfix completely purging itself of its Marvel TV roster. Via The Wrap: “‘Marvel’s The Punisher’ will not return for a third season on Netflix. Showrunner Steve Lightfoot, the terrific crew, and exceptional cast including star Jon Bernthal, delivered an acclaimed and compelling series for fans, and we are proud to showcase their work on Netflix for years to come,” Netflix said in a statement. “In addition, in reviewing our Marvel programming, we have decided that the upcoming third season will also be the final season for ‘Marvel’s Jessica Jones.’ We are grateful to showrunner Melissa Rosenberg, star Krysten Ritter and the entire cast and crew, for three incredible seasons of this groundbreaking series, which was recognized by the Peabody Awards among many others. We are grateful to Marvel for five years of our fruitful partnership and […]

Fans keen on more from the Marvel/Netflix end of things will have plenty to look forward to with Season 2 of Marvel’s Jessica Jones beginning March 8. Unsolved mysteries and newer dangers, and the return of a familiar enemy lie in waiting judging by recent press on what’s to come as we learn more about the second season following all the shows leading up to last year’s debut of The Defenders. Krysten Ritter kicks the door down for another bold and no-nonsense approach with Rachael Taylor, Carrie-Anne Moss and Eka Darville also reprising next to the additions of Leah Gibson and J.R. Ramirez. Melissa Rosenberg serves as showrunner just as she did for the first season and with the other shows setting up for their next seasons, Jessica Jones is readying to be the cog that gets things going. Watch the official trailer below.

The weekend has proven quite eventful with the news Netflix is making these days. The past few years have benefitted them greatly with the respective first seasons of Daredevil and Jessica Jones with at least three shows in tow before word broke of Jon Bernthal’s return for his own Punisher spin-off gig on Saturday. Prior to all this, a second season for Jessica Jones wasn’t fully set in stone late last year which still didn’t wane any curiousity among fans hungry for more. Well, now we have news circling the web that season two of the hit show has, in fact, been greenlit for development with actress Krysten Ritter to star. Created by Melissa Rosenberg, the first season featured Ritter in the title role of a alcoholic and recovering superhero now working as a P.I., forced to confront her past when, Kilgrave, an evil brainsweeper, resurfaces. The show shares the […]

Netflix’s latest big play in the Marvel film and entertainment milleu ostensibly comes with suspicion surrounding whether or not one other superhero may even make it to series. Beyond that, the universe here is about to get a little bit bigger with the addition of actress Krysten Ritter now starring in the title role of Marvel’s Jessica Jones series. Mike Colter makes his emergence in a supporting role that will eventually lead to a series of his own now already in full production while we await further info on the prospects of Iron Fist entering the arena before the full fruition of The Defenders. In the meantime, Ritter stands front and center as the titular superheroine-turned-private eye forced to come to terms with her inner-turmoil and suffering while focusing her investigative efforts on Zebidiah Kilgrave, a.k.a. Purple Man played by David Tennant. The past month of teasers have introduced all […]

News of the Marvel Cinematic Universe exploded this week when Kevin Feige made it clear to the public that the current movieverse would eventually share space with the realm currently set up with the shows airing and preparing to air on Netflix. So goes what could be with actress Krysten Ritter in the title role of discouraged heroine, Jessica Jones who now makes her living as a private eye, grounded in reality with an assortment of her own problems whilst dealing with the volatile nature of supervillainy that comes with being a hero…only clearly you don’t want to be in the room when it happens. SYNOPSIS: Ever since her short-lived stint as a Super Hero ended in tragedy, Jessica Jones has been rebuilding her personal life and career as a hot-tempered, sardonic, badass private detective in Hell’s Kitchen, New York City. Plagued by self-loathing, and a wicked case of PTSD, […]

While there’s no new footage to go on in the new teaser for Marvel’s latest Netflix entry, Jessica Jones, there will be plenty to offer with this latest extension based the Alias #1 publication from Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Gaydos in 2001. Krysten Ritter stars in the title role taking on a tonally different pace following up from the successful first season run of Daredevil, and with at least two other shows well on the way leading up to The Defenders, Jessica Jones may certainly lead to great things for Netflix viewers and Marvel fans alike. SYNOPSIS: Ever since her short-lived stint as a Super Hero ended in tragedy, Jessica Jones has been rebuilding her personal life and career as a hot-tempered, sardonic, badass private detective in Hell’s Kitchen, New York City. 2014 has been a great year for Marvel and Netflix since ramping things up with a few announcements a little over a year ago for a slate of Marvel programs for four non-MCU characters. Since then, there’s been much progress with Charlie Cox as Daredevil whose costumed and civilian look can currently be viewed online in several promo pics prior to premiering in May in 2015, in addition to the casting of Krysten Ritter in A.K.A. Jessica Jones, the story of the titular former superheroine-turned-incognito crimefighter who assists other superheroes in their missions. The latter news broke earlier this month as fans were awaiting just who would appear as fellow Marvel superhero Luke Cage, who had already been reported to possibly appear in several episodes. Cage, who first appeared on Marvel’s pages during his “Power Man” and “Heroes For Hire” heyday in the seventies, has long been a topical fanboy […]
