Netflix’s latest big play in the Marvel film and entertainment milleu ostensibly comes with suspicion surrounding whether or not one other superhero may even make it to series. Beyond that, the universe here is about to get a little bit bigger with the addition of actress Krysten Ritter now starring in the title role of Marvel’s Jessica Jones series.
Mike Colter makes his emergence in a supporting role that will eventually lead to a series of his own now already in full production while we await further info on the prospects of Iron Fist entering the arena before the full fruition of The Defenders. In the meantime, Ritter stands front and center as the titular superheroine-turned-private eye forced to come to terms with her inner-turmoil and suffering while focusing her investigative efforts on Zebidiah Kilgrave, a.k.a. Purple Man played by David Tennant.
The past month of teasers have introduced all but mere micro-glimpses into Jones‘s persona, though fans fortunate to be in the room for its recent pilot screening at New York Comic Con got well over an eyeful. We’ll see how this plays out with reviews pending, but we finally have a trailer that delivers just the promo we’ve been waiting for ahead of its November 20 premiere. Rachel Taylor, Eka Darville and Carrie Anne-Moss also star.
