FIREFIGHTERS Trailer: Kwak Kyung-Taek’s Latest Heats Up Screens Beginning In December

Writer and director Kwak Kyung-taek is back with a firey new dramatic thriller next month in Firefighters. The cast is led by Joo Won, Kwak Do-Won, and Yoo Jae-Myung and is reportedly based on a true story that dates back to a deadly fire in the neighborhood of Hongje-dong in 2001. Cheol-woong, a newcomer, is assigned to Rescue Unit of the Fire Station in Seoul. Soon he is sent to his first mission with Jin-seop, a veteran fireman working with a glorious title; the man who saved the highest number of people in the fire. While being overwhelmed by fierce fire and pouring smoke, Cheol-woong witnesses that Jin-seop forces to search the occupant contrary to the chief’s withdrawal order. THE BATTLE OF JANGSARI: Catch The First Teaser For The New Korean War Epic

It’ll be a month before moviegoers in South Korea get to dig into upcoming war thriller, The Battle Of Jangsari. Until then, we have our first teaser for the new September thriller directed by Kwak Kyung-taek and Kim Tae-hun. Based on a true story of Jangsari Landing Operation, 772 student soldiers – whose average age was 17 and received 2-weeks of boot camp training – were tossed into Korean War efforts in order to pave the way for Incheon Landing Operation, which turned the tide of war. SHINee member Choi Min-ho stars along with Kim Myung-min, Kim Sung-cheol anf Kim In-kwon with Megan Fox and George Eads also starring. Peep the teaser and the accompanying artwork, and be mindful of a certain Planos-based niche film distributor in Texas ahead of a formal announcement with acquisition news to be made official in due time.

Just below we now have what appears to be a first look at Kwak Kyung-taek (Dark Figure Of Crime, RV: Resurrected Victims) and Kim Tae-hun’s new Korean war epic, Battle Of Jangsari – that’s the current working title from Warner Bros. Pictures Korea and Taewon Entertainment. Review: RV: RESURRECTED VICTIMS Is A Consequential Thriller That Supercedes The Paranormal

The one interesting thing with Champion and Typhoon helmer Kwak Kyung-Taek’s latest, RV: Resurrected Victims, is how long it took to be seen by audiences. Production wrapped in late 2015 and finally had its theatrical run in Korea last October, so as much a mystery as it is, folks can still move forward and bask in the mystery and intrigue that Kwak invites per the narrative based from the 2012 literary, “It Is Over”. The film certainly goes out of its way to ground itself in realism as amply as possible, which sort of makes suspending any disbelief something of a challenge. RV: RESURRECTED VICTIMS Reanimates With A Killer U.S. Teaser

Though its taken nearly two years to release after finishing production in late 2015, Friend and Friend, The Great Legacy helmer Kwak Kyung-Taek’s new thriller, RV: Resurrected Victims, is finally on deck for a South Korean October release. That leaves room for planning over at Well Go USA with a U.S. rollout now preceded by a newly branded trailer for North American audiences. In the near future, murder victims have begun coming back to life with the sole purpose of avenging their deaths. Jin-hong (KIM Rae-won) is a cold-hearted prosecutor who’s obsessed with catching the man that killed his mother- but when she returns home, intent on killing him, he quickly becomes the lead suspect. Dead victims, who are called RV (Resurrected Victims), come back to the living world to kill their murderer who went unpunished.
